WDA joins OCH for Grand Opening of Women’s Shelter Expansion

The Opportunity Center for the Homeless (OCH) has opened a newly expanded section of its Women’s Resource Center in El Paso, adding 20 private single-room units for women in need of shelter. Funded through OCH’s Phase Three Capital Campaign, the project includes access to mental health care, recovery programs, and housing support. The new rooms replace shared sleeping areas, offering residents greater privacy, safety, and stability. During the ceremony, OCH also highlighted additional projects underway, including the Tranquility Garden and the Noble Distribution Center, both part of a broader plan to expand services and shelter capacity. This expansion is one of four ongoing projects at OCH, which also include new facilities for veterans, elderly men, and individuals with long-term homelessness. These efforts are expected to add 165 shelter beds by 2026. Wright & Dalbin Architects (WDA) led the design of the new wing and has contributed to several past OCH projects. The firm also recently participated in the Home Run for the Homeless 5K, continuing its active support for the center’s mission.
