The project was in the 1912 historic Hotel Paso Del Norte in downtown El Paso. The space had previously served as a restaurant, lounge, and retail area for the hotel. The goal was to design four new commercial spaces off a central passageway, connecting the Dome Bar and Lobby to El Paso Street pedestrian traffic. Jury comment: “The architects’ restrained approach to renovating a historic hotel section, avoiding overshadowing existing spaces, resulted in a timeless design bridging past and future. They adeptly resolved technical challenges, creating functional and beautiful spaces, earning them an Honor award.”
