The Alamito Stream Center adaptively reuses El Paso’s first 1940 public housing Community Center into a STREAM learning hub focused on education, sustainability, and historic preservation. The project creates a community learning environment with greenhouses, gardens, courtyards, labs, maker spaces, and culinary studios. The only remaining historic duplex was relocated and reconstructed for specialized programs while preserving its historic character through sustainable reuse strategies.
