About ADA Standards
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a comprehensive U.S. civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities. For construction, the ADA sets minimum standards for accessibility in public accommodations and commercial facilities. These standards ensure that buildings are designed and built to be accessible to people with disabilities, covering aspects like ramps, door widths, and restroom layouts.
About Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS)
The Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) are the state-level building requirements for accessibility in Texas. The TAS are based on the federal ADA standards but also include specific state requirements. Projects in Texas must comply with the TAS to ensure they are accessible to people with disabilities, as mandated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
About Energy Star
Energy Star is a program by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that promotes energy efficiency. The Energy Star symbol is a trusted, government-backed label for products and buildings that meet strict energy-efficiency specifications. This helps consumers and businesses save money on energy bills and protect the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
