OCH Veterans
Veterans suffer the tribulations of war disproportionately, first as combatants, and then as survivors. The Opportunity Center for the Homeless commissioned a single room occupancy facility, built to help reintegrate homeless veterans into society. Besides living quarters, the Center provides counseling to help residents deal with finances, veterans' medical benefits, substance abuse, and job applications.
The three story building near downtown El Paso is approximately 7,300 square feet, and includes 20 single occupant rooms, common bathrooms, laundry rooms, a TV room/lounge and a kitchen and dining area. Wright & Dalbin provided pre-design services, including development of the grant application, site analysis, and planning and programming; design and design documents; and construction management.
