SISD Options High School
Socorro ISD purchased an existing industrial building (previously a Lee/ Wrangler manufacturing plant) to transform into a campus for district two alternative education programs. Options High School allows students to earn a high school diploma while working full-time. Classes are offered mornings, afternoons, and evenings with a 20-hour minimum attendance per week. The school includes classrooms, science labs, art rooms, computer classrooms, universal computer labs, and administrative offices. This portion of campus is 46,000 square feet.
The Discipline Alternative Education Program (Keys Academy) includes classrooms, science labs, art room, computer classrooms, nova net computer classrooms, universal computer lab and administrative offices. The Keys Academy is approximately 45,000 square feet.
The two schools share facilities including a learning center, kitchen, cafeteria, and a gymnasium. Rehabilitation work included completely new HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and IT/Data systems. In order to facilitate maintenance WDA designed a lower structural grid where all new systems are attached and easily accessible for service.
