Landscape Architect

Job Location: El Paso, Texas

Overview: Wright & Dalbin Architects, Inc. (WDA) has an immediate career opportunity for a Landscape Architect. The successful candidate should be committed to high quality design, sustainable landscape design practices, and be familiar with the desert environment and how to apply best design practices to the southwest region.

Responsibilities:
  • Support staff with conceptual design and construction documentation for a range of projects
  • Produce precise and consistent hardscape construction drawings and accurate project detailing
  • Support architects and staff with research and site analysis
  • Design and produce landscape projects by communicating and collaborating directly with clients
Requirements:
  • Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited Landscape Architectural program
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members, and able to handle 3 to 4 projects simultaneously
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM Software, as well as illustration software
  • Experience with irrigation design and standards
  • Texas irrigator licensed preferred

Architectural Intern

Job Location: El Paso, Texas

Overview: Wright & Dalbin Architects, Inc. (WDA) has an immediate opportunity for an Architectural Intern to prepare and design construction drawings for architectural projects. Candidate must be able to apply knowledge of design, building materials, and assemblies.

Responsibilities:
  • Research materials and assemblies for appropriate incorporation into design specifications and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor
  • Create Revit models, AutoCAD drawings, as well as design and construction drawings with information provided by the supervisor or data obtained from research
  • Integrate information from consultants and suppliers into models and drawings
  • Visit site under direct supervision and assist with the documentation of findings
  • Process contractor submittals by logging in the submittals and routing them to the appropriate party for review
  • Prepare RFI responses, submittal reviews, ASIs, and Change Orders
  • Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence
Requirements:
  • NAAB accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency and experience
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiency and experience
  • Photoshop, Acrobat, Sketchup, and 3D Studio Max proficiency and experience
  • Knowledge of building design and construction means, methods, and techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a time-efficient manner
  • Ability to prepare architectural documents and specifications for projects
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to read redlines and modify BIM models or drawings accordingly
  • Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas
  • 3-5 years’ previous architectural experience preferred

Job Captain

Job Location: El Paso, Texas

Overview: Wright & Dalbin Architects, Inc. (WDA) has an immediate full-time career opportunity for a Job Captain with a minimum of two years’ project experience in Revit. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Construction Science/Construction Management, and a minimum of 3-5 years’ related architectural experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Simultaneous work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development
  • Prepare project designs and construction documents using BIM software and equipment
  • Prepare various documents during the course of project development, including meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, etc.
  • Visit project sites and document findings
  • Research materials, assemblies, or building codes for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor
  • Integrate information from consultants and suppliers into Revit Models for documentation
  • Process contractor submittals and RFIs by logging and routing them to the appropriate party(ies)
  • Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence
  • Prepare graphic materials for presentation or documents
  • Select and prepare material finish boards/binders
  • Some travel to construction job sites and client meetings
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or construction science/construction management
  • 3-5 years’ architectural experience
  • Ability to read redlines and modify Revit models and other documents accurately
  • Proficient in Revit Architecture 2013-2016 (min. 2 years’ experience) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem analysis & solving skills
  • Technical capacity to research and apply building codes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong task-oriented time management
  • Possess proven teamwork abilities
